TIMIKA – The Free Papua Organization (OPM), especially Kodap III/Ndugama led by Egianus Kogoya, has several times attempted to attack the TNI Post in Paro Village, Kenyam District, Kab. Nduga, Prov. Papua Mountains since early 2024. The OPM attack was carried out in line with the OPM’s intention to disrupt the security of the Papua region.

Following up on the OPM action, the TNI Operations Command (Koops TNI) HABEMA held an OPM Enforcement Operation for 5 days starting on April 15 2024 in the Paro area. The KOOPS HABEMA enforcement operation was effective and succeeded in paralyzing OPM forces in the Paro area.

KOOPS HABEMA achieved several results in cracking down on OPM in Paro, including two OPM members who were shot but managed to escape. Furthermore, some of the OPM material that was obtained was an FN pistol with magazine, an SS-2 rifle magazine, 27 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition, an OPM Morning Star flag, a bow and several traditional arrows, a machete, and a Noken. .
